30m² of raised loft boarding in an older brick-built house, on a new timber subframe over fresh insulation, with a deluxe wooden loft ladder.
The job
An older house with a traditional cut roof, brick party walls and a chimney breast running up through the loft.
We built a new timber subframe across the loft, laid fresh insulation between it, then boarded 30m² on top so the insulation sits uncompressed under the floor. The boards are scribed to the brickwork on every side.
Access is a deluxe wooden loft ladder in a new lined hatch, which folds away into the loft when it is not in use.
